Are promotions within a company public information, or can they be kept a secret? I asked my boss the other day about someone in my department receiving a promotion, and got into trouble. He told me that it's no ones business except for himself and the one receiving the promotion.
I would like to prove him wrong?
Thanks!

- Sorry, but your boss is right.#1; Thu, 29 Mar 2007 12:58:00 GMT

- It is entirely up to the company. Even in the government, who is being considered for a promotion is not public knowledge. What someone's position is at any given time usually is. There are some exceptions of course but in general who is being selected for a position is still a private matter.#2; Thu, 29 Mar 2007 10:31:00 GMT
